Friday morning, the Supreme Court delivered Pro-life conservatives across the country a massive win. After half a century of legal action and activism, the landmark abortion ruling Roe v Wade has been overturned by SCOTUS.

The conservative court ruled 6-3 in favor of overturning Roe despite death threats and an assassination attempt on Justice Kavanaugh from pro-infanticide radicals.

In the opinion issued, Justice Sam Alito says abortion rulings in Roe v Wade and Planned Parenthood v Casey were wrong from the start:

“The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right is implicitly protected by any constitutional provision.”

– JUSTICE SAMUEL ALITO, JUNE 24, 2022

Now, lawmakers and party leaders across the country are responding. Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin shared his reaction to the ruling to Twitter, striking a uniting tone while also arguing that Virginians want fewer abortions, not more.

Youngkin says he’s proud to be a Pro-life governor:

“The Supreme Court of the United States has rightfully returned power to the people and their elected representatives in the states. I’m proud to be a pro-life Governor and plan to take every action I can to protect life. The truth is, Virginians want fewer abortions, not more abortions. We can build a bipartisan consensus on protecting the life of unborn children, especially when they begin to feel pain in the womb, and importantly supporting mothers and families who choose life. That’s why I’ve asked Senator Siobhan Dunnavant, Senator Steve Newman, Delegate Kathy Byron and Delegate Margaret Ransone to join us in an effort to bring together legislators and advocates from across the Commonwealth on this issue to find areas where we can agree and chart the most successful path forward. I’ve asked them to do the important work needed and be prepared to introduce legislation when the General Assembly returns in January.”

Attorney General Jason Miyares:

“Today the Supreme Court ruled that the issue of abortion should not be decided by unelected federal judges, but by the people of the States through their elected representatives. Good and reasonable people can disagree on this issue but now Virginians, not federal judges, can decide its future. The Attorney General will continue to uphold and enforce both the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of Virginia.”

Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears celebrated the ruling:

“Today, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Dobbs, giving power back to the states to make decisions on abortion. The court has recognized that the 1973 decision was an example of judicial and federal overreach. The important question of abortion has now been returned to statehouses across the country, in order for them to make their own policy decisions- which is exactly what the founding fathers envision when they wrote the 10th amendment to the Constitution. I applaud the Court for recognizing this wrong and having the courage to correct it. I look forward to working with the Governor and the General Assembly in the next legislative session on legislation that respects life.”

Over the next days, weeks, and months, conservatives and liberals will be battling on the issue of abortion at the state level. Numerous states, including Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Louisiana, are set to ban abortion with Roe v Wade overruled.

  1. Murdering babies is not a new concept in this world. The followers of Baal sacrificed thousands of babies to their God. In the Bible other societies sacrifice babies. The Mayans, the Aztecs, and the Nazis. Shouldn’t we give unborn children a break?

  2. My personal feelings not withstanding, Roe V Wade, Social Security, “Obamacare”.
they were all decided by 9 robed lawyers. Some unconstitutional ( in my view) decisions have been done by these same lawyers.

  3. 1st, there is no mention of abortions in the constitution ergo, there is no constitutional right to abortion despite what Pelosi says. 2nd, Congress was unable to come to a bipartisan agreement and write a bill that would be passed making it law at the federal level, hence it became a political football and divided our nation in two camps, one pro-choice and the other pro-life. So the SCOTUS ruled pushing the issue down to the states so that each states representatives could vote in accordance with their constituents wishes the same as they do in every election.

  4. There are too many ways pregnancy can be avoided. The bottom line is, people need to be more careful and less promiscuous. Life is precious and should be valued. Abortion is plain and simple— murder!!!

  5. I think the decision was the correct one. America is not about infanticide, it’s about life. People need to be more responsible. Babies don’t have to be murdered and we don’t want them to be.

    1. Well, children with guns are murdering a lot of our babies in schools…so clearly this isn’t about supporting life. It’s about control.
